Vol 47

*SPOILERS*

Just finished Mercy 5. Patricia Briggs really is a great writer, but now I think I know what the future books will be about. I think it was mentioned before that Mercy would dig into her heritage, see if her father had more children, exactly what kind of magic they had. After reading 5, I wondered what the future books would have been about.

First I must say, I miss Stephan. I was upset that he didn't make one single appearance. Not even the mystery machine made an appearance.

I was surprised that Mercy was still having the anxiety attacks but that was also a good thing. It meant that she didn't just overcome what Tim did to her. That chicken shit. She was still suffering, even just a little.

Mercy was really quick with the trigger in this book. First the bounty hunter thing, that felt so out of place and random, but it made since after it was explained. (Again with the scooby doo reference. Daphne?) Then she shot Henry, which I LOVEDDDD! I went back and reread that part twice. She stepped into the role of "Alpha's mate' with that little stunt. And then she killed the Dairy Queen, three shots to the chest. I expected a little chase or something. It was very melodramatic. I wonder how long Yo-yo girl was there?

Darrel and Auriel are the cutest couple. I loved when Auriel slammed Mary Jo into the wall. That was really unexpected, especially because at the end of the last book Auriel expressed her displeasure in having a Coyote, Mercy, in the pack. But now she rounded on Mary-jo for betraying Mercy. I guess that's better than Mary-Jo who resulted in being a back stabbing bitch. Yeah, yeah, she redeemed herself, but I would never trust her again.

Then there was Samuel. Samuel. Samuel. Samuel. Really? I knew something was up when he said "You be happy in life," or something along those lines. What I didn't expect was for him to try and drive off a bridge. Thanks to the officer for being there. And also thanks to Sam, his inner wolf. Sam took control. Sam didn't want to die. The wolf wanted to live, that big pony, but the Human felt unless.

That was until Ari came. Now that was a surprise. Very unexpected, but very welcomed. I could actually imagine her well, with her scars and all, and Samuel being attracted to that kind of person. I wonder if Ari will be able to give birth to Samuel's child. She's not werewolf, so she doesn't have to worry about shifting and losing a child, and she's not human, who miscarry a lot. She's fae. Maybe she has some fae magic to help her through pregnancy. After all, Phin is her grandson, which means that she CAN give birth.

I think I'll stop here now.

This is book 35 our of 52.
I actually started book 36 before I read book 35, but since I finished this one first, I'll call it 35.
36 is book 3 of the Crimson Moon series.

Vol 46

I'm going to take this time out to tell you about some of my friends.
I say that I have two sets of friends.

First, I should say that after I graduated high school, 4 years ago, I sort have been this introvert, which is completely unlike how I was before.
You could never keep me in the house.
I wasn't a bad kid, but I was often grounded.
Those days being stuck in the house were the worst.
Although, my stepdad tends to believe that we had easy punishments.
Pst! Easy for him to say.

I wasn't really a fighter, but during middle school I ended up in fist fights with two of my friends.
We became friends again later.
One, I'm not in much contact with anymore.
After middle school we went to high school, made new friends, and drifted apart.

The other one I fought...she's a feisty bitch.
And I mean that with all due respect.
We argued about EVERYTHING!
We couldn't go a day without arguing.
We both tend to have this, "I'm always right, and you're always wrong" kind of attitude.
But even with our personality differences, she's a feisty bitch who will always have my back.
Even if she thinks I'm a bit strange.
She just became a mommy recently.
She's going through some baby daddy troubles, but she'll raise her daughter the proper way.
Or else I'll kick her ass.
I still haven't saw her baby, besides pictures.

Then there is my smart friend.
She was one of the friends I didn't ever argue with, but she was also one of the ones who instigated the fight between me and my feisty bitch friend.
She's about to graduate from college with a B.S in about 6 weeks.
I'm kind of jealous.
We started college at the same time, but I still have YEARS to go before I get my B.S because I changed my major a lot.
Anyway, I don't get to see my smart friend often.
We always make plans to do stuff but we never do.
But I'm proud my the little liberal-feminazi-black power-nerd.
She's like me: What you see is what you get, and if you don't like it, Fuck it.
We have the same view point on a lot of issues.
And even with issues that we disagree on, we can debate them well, without ever crossing that line between "debate" and just "argue".
She's going places in life, and I'm tagging on with her.

I have this phenomenal-cosmic-power friend.
She's not one of those would be psychics or anything like that, but she's very open minded.
Her thing is, "just because I don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there."
Aliens, ghost, witches, vampires. psychics, etc...she believes that it could all be out there.
I feel the need to stress that she's not weird or anything.
It's not like she worries about these things, but to her, it's just a thought.
She has a son and a fiance.
She's so young, younger than me, but she's so mature, the head of the house.
She's trying to make something of her life.
I like talking to her.
She makes me feel important, because after we finish talking, she tends to say that I inspire her to rearrange her life.
Who wouldn't like talking to a person like that.
We laugh all the time.

There are many more friends that I could talk about, but right now I'll switch to the other group of friends. I'll come back to this group later. The other one is much smaller.

She's like my honestly-modest-momma.
Her personality is extremely nice.
Way to nice if you ask me.
Sometimes I just wish she would snap on someone.
Oh how I would love to see that.
She comes from a hardworking family, at least I think she does.
She's extremely fortune and I want to say spoiled, but she doesn't act like that.
Honestly, she's too modest if you ask me.
But she's my momma and she's awesome.
We met in Tokyo and kicked it off immediately.
We're on opposite sides of the continent, but I often forget that.
That's just how awesome she is.
I only wish that she would use that hardworking personality of hers to give me a chance to meet my dad. *wink*
He's a singer.
A very very popular singer.
ROFLMAO.
I never have to worry about my momma.
I'm use to taking care of my friends, but my momma takes care of me.
I don't really like that, but I appreciate it.
I'll treat her to a really really really fancy dinner when she wins her first case.

I have another friend, a would-be-artist.
That is NOT an insult.
It's a compliment.
She sings, draws, she's working on her photography, and she plays about 2-3 instruments...a little bit.
If only she could dance.
She likes to write occasionally, as well.
Which brings me to the topic of her not-so-successful blog.
I don't know what happened with that.
Only one post.
Just one.
Come on!
Even boring people like us can blog more than once every six months.
Look at my blog, it's all about books I'm reading to complete my resolution.
Anyway, that little skinny chick is actually quite strong.
I don't really remember how we met, but it was in Japan at school.
All I know is that after our arm wrestling match, I knew we would get along.
I say she's a would be artist, because right now she's still in school working on her degree, like me.
I'll acknowledge her title as an artist whenever she opens an exhibit, or her work, whatever it may be, is published.
I'll make sure she accomplishes something, or I'll go Yamanashi on her.
She's going to come to my wedding, with her half-bald Irish man.

Did I tell you I'm part turtle?
I have a turtle mama!
We were called "mother and child turtle" while standing in the office at our school in Japan.
Underneath all that black she wears, she's snarky.
You wouldn't expect it, but she really is.
She doesn't like to let people feel left out.
That's the only reason I can think of for her to hang out with "The Racist" and "The Jackass" as much as she did.
She's also a would-be-artist.
She takes really great photos.
And she wants to use me as a model for her portfolio.
I was never photogenic but I damn sure will become photogenic for that.
We're both insomniacs.
She's an hour behind me, but we both go to bed at ridiculous hours.
We like to talk about being black in Japan, or being what people would term "oreo".
Fuck those people.
We're not oreo's.
We're just educated.
She doesn't like Micheal Phelps, and I kicked her butt in arm wrestling for disrespecting my fellow Baltimore citizen.
I bet she'll keep her mouth closed about him around me from now.

These are the six friends I think about often.
The funny thing is, I don't see any of them often.
As you can probably figure, my Japan friends, while we all live in the U.S, we're from different states.
As for the other three, I see, "phenomenal-cosmic-power" often because we work together.
But, as for my two childhood friends, "feisty bitch" and "liberal-feminazi-black power-nerd", I need to make plans for the three of us to hang out together again. The last time I got together with the two of them was back in 2007.

And now that I think about it, I actually have three groups of friends.
I'll cover the third group someday, somewhere, by chance.

Vol 45

I smell fire......o_O????

I'm on the bus, on my way to school, right now.
It is really a nice day.
45 degress right now, with a high of 75.
I'm.....oh snap! Almost missed my stop.

*two minutes later*

Okay, i'm on the other bus stop now.
This crappy ass bus never runs correctly.
My phone is acting gay, so I can't see what i'm actually typing.

Anyway, i'm wearing these green linen capri's today.
It's my first time wearing them.
Although, I bought them four years ago.

It really is a nice day.
Even my city doesn't look half as dirty...if you don't take in the died rat in from of me that was smashed by a car.

Vol 44

As for the picture below...this is a childrens book.
a lot of children who come to my job have this book. or one of the books.
i was just saying the other day that i knew they would turn this into a movie.
Lowandbehold, when i got home today, i saw a preview for it.
Just great, another crappy kids movie.

As far as my resolution goes....i'm getting pretty close.

I won't post little descriptions about them all, this time around, but maybe a brief sentence or two.

But here is a list...If I remember correctly:

Practice Makes Perfect - Julie James (Like it. The silent feud. hehehe)

Just the Sexist Man Alive - Julie James (What's the most popular actor to do when he's outwitted by the sexy lawyer helping him with a role?)

Bad Blood: Crimson Moon series - L.A Banks (Damn Werewolves and Vampires)

Bite the Bullet: Crimson Moon series - L.A Banks *sigh*

Black Jack - Lora Leigh (She's not that great. Good story, but not how I would have liked it.)

Man of Fame - Rochelle Alers (-le sigh-)

Man of Fantasy - Rochelle Alers (-le sigh-

Man of Fortune - Rochelle Alers (-le sigh-)

Stranger in My Arms -Rochelle Alers (I liked the whole family thing. Reminded me of my family before my grand dad died)

Love Lessons (Novella) - Rochelle Alers (Lots of Rachelle Alers.)

I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember right now.
Need to check my kindle.

On Spring Break right now.
Not much of a break.
I have to work damn near everyday.

Vol 43

So I read this the other day.
Cameron was the Asst. U.S Attorney, fresh on the scene, assigned to the case of the State vs. Roberto Martino.
Five years prior to the start of this story, Jack Pallas, a FBI agent, went undercover in Martino's gang.
He was expose two years later, and was tortured for two days by Martino's men.
Jack managed to kill 8 out of the 10 guys before his back up arrived.
So Jack had way more than enough evidence to take down Martino and his gang.
But one day Cameron comes to his office, after months of working to get a case, and said that the state will not fail ANY charges against Martino or his men.
She told Jack that it was her decision, when really it was her boss, Silas, decision.
Jack said some not so nice things about her on camera, and resulted in a transfer to one of those boring states that start with an N.
Nebraska....Nevada???

Three years later, Cameron is getting her floors done and has to stay at an hotel for a night.
She goes all out and stays at this really nice hotel, but she wasn't able to get any sleep because of the bed-rocking from the next room.
But sex wasn't the only thing going on in that room that night.
A murder also took place.
Cameron is the only witness.

Jack just returned to Chicago that week and was called out in the middle of the night to be the lead man of the hotel murder.
Oh yeah, you know what that means....
Jack and Cameron reunite.
And more than sparks fly.
Some heated words were tossed the entire time.
Good thing Jack's partner Wilkens was there.
...I adore Wilkens. He is just the kind of guy any girl would love to be friends with.
...And Phelps and Kamin are too cool for school.

Anyway, Cameron was put under witness protection.
But when the two daytime officers who were suppose to protect her, failed to check her house properly, resulting in Collin, Cameron's best friend, being knocked out and Cameron held at gun point, Jack jumps in to save her.
And then he takes on her safety personally, moving into her place.

Jack and Cameron already had a terrible time trying to keep their attraction for each other under control, so when Jack found out that Cameron actually saved him from being fired three years ago, and had him transferred instead, and that it was Silas's idea not to file charges, all hopes of restraint vanished.

Jack and Cameron were cute together.
I love a good love/hate story, and this was definitely a love/hate story.
But still, Wilkens stole the show whenever he was around.
So when Wilken, Kamin, and Phelps got together...oh snap.
That scene, so short, but so great.

Definitely recommend this.

Vol 42

I am a shop-a-holic.
Recently, I bought myself a blue sapphire ring.
Sapphire is my birthstone
It's the first piece of "REAL" jewelry I ever bought myself.

I shouldn't have bought this ring.
I spent money I should have saved.
But that's what is means to be a shop-a-holic.

I also bought a few garments for spring/summer.
I wish the weather would warm up.

SCHOOL SUCKS!

Vol 41

Oh ah oh ah ah oh ah!

Yet another series suggested by my lovely tía, Jime.
And yet another vampire series.
My tía is obsessed with vampires, just a little bit.

This is the Young Brothers Series.
The book covers are in order.

The Young Brothers are 3 brothers, who are all vampires.
Each brother has a respective book.
My favorite by far is the youngest brothers' book.
Sebastian's book. I Only Have Fangs For You

Sebastian is such a playboy.
Christian (2nd brother) is such a bad ass.
Rhys (oldest brother) is exactly opposite from both Sebastian and Christian.
But despite their differences, these brothers car a lot about each other.
And it's fun to watch Sebastian ridicule them all.

They have a sister who they thought died many many many decades ago.
But in fact, she didn't.
And she also thought that they died many many many decades ago.
They all reunited after Sebastian found his mate, who happened to be his long lost sister's roommate.

Elizabeth is not a vampire like her three older brothers.
She is a werewolf.
And a not-promiscuous-but-damn-might-as-well-have-been-with-that-move-you-just-pulled werewolf.

I was happy the family reunited.

Oh...I should mention that for a brief moment, Sebastian is also a scooby-doo fanatic.
What is with vampires and scooby-doo?
I don't intend to read enough vampire series to find out.
The whole blood sucking thing rubs me the wrong way.
Thankfully, not that much blood sucking going on.

The titles are hilarious.

P.S: I didn't read Fangs for the Memories yet.
Jime gave me the book list out of order.

So my count is now: 23/52
