Vol 133

About to watch One Day. Lets see how much they differ from the book. I kind of hate this theater. It's always soooo cold. No matter how much I wear it's not enough.

Edit: Don't pay to see it. The movie does no justice to the book. It's an okay movie, but it lacks the intimacy that the book contained, and when you're viewing the relationship of people in one day increments, intimacy is very very important. I did like seeing some bits fleshed out, but still...Over all it was a bit cute. Sadly, the characters didn't age well. I know at 38-40, you don't look all old and saggy. Not if you take care of yourself, but Dexter didn't age well. He still looked as young as he did in the beginning, if with the 5 0 clock shadow and the gray hair. But I love Anne Hathaway and I think she did a good job, although I am no judge on her British accent, me being a 'Merkin and all.

On the other note, I got to enjoy a few hours to myself, doing what I want to do. Just me, my starbucks, and ipod. It was fun just walking and sitting around with no one to bother me. Being a introvert but always around people can be a bit...tiring. Even when I'm home, I'm in the room alone all the time, but there's still people around in other rooms. This was just me. Enjoyed myself completely.

School starts in two days. Won't be so happy when I go to class. -_-

Vol 129

This big thing of stadium seats set up from the Grand Prix race next month is an eye sore. Seriously. But i guess people will tolerate anything when money is involved.

Vol 126

So I fixed my laptop but it's only a temporary fix. It keeps bonking out on me. But unlike my desktop, which I also fixed...sorta, at least it cuts back on when it bonks out.
I just sold it to some random website that buys old, not-so-great laptops for $160.
With Apple, I got a credit card and just bought myself a macbook with a 3 year Warranty. I'm rather pissed this laptop crashed on me. I only had it for 3 years and I haven't abused and used it that bad. I mean, my desktop I've had since I was about 14-15, and now it finally died completely. But that's 8-9 years compared to 3. WTF!
Anyway, I really didn't want a credit card (now I have 2) but like my mother and aunt said, my credit sucks. That's not good. The only way to boost it (for someone like me) is to have a major credit card that I actually pay. I have the cellphone and house phone bills I pay, and I pay on time in full, but those are under my parent's name, so.....
If school didn't give so much online work, and if I didn't have some many people in my head (that makes me sound insane) I probably would hold off on buying a new computer.

On to another topic. The Z-Man? REALLY? ROFLMAO. I should have known where this was going the moment they traveled to Greece, but I wasn't thinking the Z-Man. I was expecting some random cameo of a LoTU character (not that I really expected it with this being an original inside joke fiction, but I was rereading a LoTU novel at the time). Oh man. *rubs hands together* All the fun I can have with the Z-Man being Him. I'll wait for my Mac before I start typing anything. I don't want this laptop to bonk on me again and I lose my work. That pisses me off.

Vol 125

Okay. I kind of have a lot to say right now.
First; both my laptop and desktop have crashed and burned. So i'm without a computer until I come back from Los Angeles. Sucks. Guess i'll have to bum my mothers laptop.

Second; I'm going back to LA next week. I'm staying at the same friend's place, my okaasan, but this time different friends will be joining us. Oohh, i'm excited. And now that my travel sickness doesn't bother me nearly as much, I can actually look forward to a trip.

Third; Since my laptop has broken, I can no longer participate in camp Nanowrimo. Not happy about this. I was looking forward to working on Noor 2. I miss my characters. And because the computer's are broken, I have to pause my other work as well. Sucks again. But i'm a lazy author who will enjoy the reprieve.

Fourth; Is it Sept 27th yet. Yes, that is my birthday but I'm looking forward to my date with Strider...and Kaia. Love those Harpies. I can't wait to see how each character reacts to him being her consort. Lol. Priceless.

Vol 117

I'm all jittery like a dope fiend right now.
I wonder if it's because of the excessive amounts of caffeine I drink daily or anxiety.
I prefer the caffeine.
My anxiety attacks are stuff out nightmares.

Vol 114

So I went to the doctors office earlier today.
It's a block away from the University of Maryland Law School, right across from the School of Social work.
The picture above is the law library.
While walking by, I thought, "I wonder if Ian Carter is somewhere in there sitting at a desk with a lamp, hair tussled...Maybe I should go ask if Ian Carter is there."

Had a nice laugh.

P.S: No longer screaming. Nothing is wrong.

Vol 113

I always thought this was a very creepy painting.
Sadly, it is the best picture to describe my current mood.
Total freak out and screaming.
I won't say why.
Don't want to curse/jinx anything.

But, I suddenly thought of another reason for the scream.
Lena, you fecking turtle.
How dare you stay in LA a day/two after I leave.
It doesn't matter that I arrive a day before you.
So not fair~~!!!
I would change my plane ticket if I was willing to pay the $75 fee.
But I'm not.
That $75 can go on a ton of books.
Speaking of which, I need to update my total spending amount.
Should I add the price of the Kindle?
If so, my total this year on books is already pushing $400.

Vol 112

I bought an Kindle today.
I've wanted one for a long time.
I asked my mother to buy me one for my birthday last year, but she didn't want to spend $200 on it.
So today, I caved.
It's not so bad.
I'm search a techno savvy, I can put books on here that I purchased from other websites.
It takes some manipulation to do so, but I get it done.
I won't explain it.
Just go to Amazon if you're curious.

I also purchased my plane ticket to Los Angeles.
I'm going next month for about 4-5 days.

Actually, now that I think about it, I spent close to $1000 today.
YIKES!

BORED OUT MY MIND!

I'm so bored waiting for my class to start I'm playing with my webcam and creating a collage of some sorts. This is just the start of it.

Vol 109

It snowed overnight yesterday.
Schools were canceled today, although there wasn't much snow out this morning.
But it started to snow again sometime mid afternoon.
Or more like hailed.
Now it's snowing again.
My classes are suppose to start tomorrow.
I hope my university closes because I will not be going even if they open.
No way I want to go out in that.
But my school can be jerks at times and stay open despite it looking a hot mess outside.

One class already posted assignments on Blackboard so I just spent the last 4 hours doing Intermediate Algebra.
Yes, I know. Sucks!
I mean seriously, I haven't taken a math class since I was a teenager. Just so you know, I'll be 23 this fall. You get the picture.
Most of it I still remember, but when it comes to word problems and graphing, I suck.
I was stuck on the word problem portion for an hour and a half and didn't get a single problem
Or I would get one, but you have to get 2 in a row to move on, and I would miss the second and have to start over.
The assignments for chapters 1-3 have to be complete by the 5th of Feb.
I already finished chapter 1 today, besides that word problem thing.
If classes are canceled tomorrow, I'll work on chapters 2-3.

Besides that math class, my semester schedule consist of Anthropology 211. It's a culture course and UMBC didn't accept either of my previous two culture classes when I transferred. They said those classes didn't match any there offered.
LIARS!!!
I sat them and showed them the syllabus for my music and health course, and they matched damn near word-for-word with a course they offer there.
Anyway, and I have three Psychology classes: child development, health psychology, and the history of psychology.
That last is a level 4 class, so nothing but papers, papers, and more papers.

Today, besides doing homework, I spent the most of my time watching Disney movies.
Classics.
First I watched The Lion King as I went over my Health Psychology book.
Then a few hours later I put on Aladdin as I did math homework.
When that went off I watched Mulan, which just went off 10 minutes ago.
I don't have any other Disney movie that I want to watch.
I need to go buy Pocahontas, maybe Beauty and the Beast.
Anastasia as well.

So see, I can go a day without reading.
Almost drove me insane but...
I guess I should crawl into bed now and force myself to sleep.
I need to develop a new sleep routine.
Although I only have classes twice a week, I still don't think staying up until 2-3am is wise during the school semester.
Some days I'm up until 4-5am.

Lets just hope this snow last for a few more hours.
I hate snow, but when it gets me out of class I love it.

What's new?

Vol 105

But is it really being a stuck up bitch when the person spoken to is obviously not up to standard?
I mean really? Is it?
If it's freezing outside and a guy wearing a thin hoodie and socks with flip-flops approaches a girl who is decently dressed, and she rejects him, is she stuck up?
If the same guy is 18 and the girl is 22, and she rejects him, does that means she's stuck up?
If she laughs in a friendly manner as she rejects him, is that stuck up?
I mean, she could always be rude and tell the fuckwit tosser to get lost like she wanted to.
If the kid is persistent, not taking no for an answer, is it her fault if she starts to feel annoyed and answer him with clip words?
I don't think so.
If the girl is a natural smart mouth, but instead of slashing into him like she usually would, she just laughs it all off, is that really snobbish of her?
If she finds the recent high school graduate amusing because he has no chance, is that arrogant?
Is it her fault that she can speak properly and not like a hoodlum as the 18 year old does?
Can she be called condescending because she's educated and he's not?
If his pick up lines were whack as hell and played out, is it her fault she cut him down from the start?
I don't think so.
But hey, what do I know!
I'm just a stuck up, snobbish, condescending bitch.
(Not the words the kid called me, but the words I've been called by numerous people.)

Vol 104

Something I realized recently.
In context of size and complexion, while people may think I'm the lucky one, in reality I am not.
At least I never saw it that way.
I'm skinny. As simple as that.
Better yet, in the words of...everyone, I'm tiny.
I'm that stick figure uncurvy one.
At least I am for a black girl.
To my non-black friends, I'm shapely. *rolls eyes*
But despite my size, no matter where I look, on TV or in novels, there is never someone similar to me.
There is always the girl with the ample breast, shapely rear, thick thighs, hips, etc...or the outright BBW.
There might be a "fit" character, but never a skinny one.
Not unhealthy skinny. Just naturally small.
I eat more than any women and most men, but on a bad day I'm still a size 3.
And the more I eat, the smaller I get.
I'm not taking about eating salads and wheat thins.
Those are good, but give me something deep fried and smothered in chocolate.
I hardly ever work out either.
There is no need.
When I do, it's for muscle tone, not to lose weight.

On to another black person thing.
TV has an steady supply of their brown women.
Not dark.
Not even light.
Just brown.
And is that fair?
Where are the dark beauties or the high yellow ladies?
I'm curious.
I'm a high yellow, but I'm actually curious about where the dark beauties are?
There's all over the place in novels, but besides the two or three popular actresses, where are the others?
I know people think lighter is better and that's just foolish.
Things like this...I notice but it never really means anything until it stands out a lot.
I'm so immune to things like race that I only notice it when it really stands out or someone points it out.
Well, these are things that are starting to stand out as someone pointed them out.

And as the high yellow, skinny chick, I'm suppose to remain quiet.
My friends look at me and say what right do I have to complain?
But I have just as much a right as any other.

Things like this should mean nothing, yet they do.
Instead of big girls targeting me or me targeting them, we should all target those who say one is better than the other.

This isn't just a black thing.
Other people have it as well.
The tall vs the short.
Blond hair vs Red
Blue/Green eyes vs Brown.
It's annoying and rather petty, don't you think?

Everyone has their complexes, right?
Why make fun of someone because they're different?
Doesn't that just show how insecure you may be?
That's how I see it.
It's hilarious to see how many things really keep people divided.
(Not me. I accept everyone...or almost everyone. I don't like smelly people)
Things that don't matter.
Things that only a .1 percent gene difference determines.
Stuff that are measure by letters and numbers.
It just shows how silly people are.
(Again, not me. I accept everyone, except smelly people. And people who steal my stuff)
You want to know how accepting I am.
Right now I'm watching Ninja Assassin.
This movie is utterly, completely, terrible.
It sucks.
Majorly.
But I'm watching it because I'm accepting, and I think that Bi Rain is some smexy, Asian, eye candy.
Man, he can move.
They trained him hard for this role.
He looks nice.
His short hair is better though.
(Don't you agree Tia?)
See! See how accepting I am.
Want another example?
I stayed up all last night watching Lord of the Rings?
Not just because Legolas is slice raisin bread, which I love more than plain old slice bread, and not because Aragon is one of the hottest older men alive, but because of Liv Tyler's role as Arwen.
I adored her.
...I guess these aren't good examples. ;)
Well I can say that no matter where I am, work, school, outside, I have never treated anyone differently because of things that were predetermined and out of their control.
Now, I will openly admit that I am a rude bitch when it comes to one type of person.
And that's a pervert.
My tongue is sharp and I rip them to shreds.
The life choices they make are inhumane and I can't stand that.
My point is that whether you're white, black, hispanic, asian, fat, skinny, tall, short, blue hair, blond eyes, (lol), any so on, I don't and won't treat you differently.
I treat you all the same.
Like a bunch of annoying ass relatives.

Psst!
Whatever.
Time to get back to my novel that has a BBW as the main character.
(Her friend makes me want to punch her in the face. She's a bigot in denial. Why is it always the light skin, skinny ones portrayed this way? *smh*)

You know, one of my favorite novels is a romance novel whose main character is only 5 feet 1.
I've yet to see a story where the character was I size 2-3.

I should stop rambling now.
I have to wake up for work in less than 5 hours.
Insomnia is a biznitch.

Vol 96

Okay. First.
I finished school last week.
About time!
I was going crazy in that place.
I'm not sure what my grades are yet, whether I passed or not.
I don't really care either.
This semester started out promising but crashed about three weeks into.
Enough about school.

Christmas is coming up soon.
I've already completed my Christmas shopping.
I basically finished last month.
I am completely and totally broke.
Not like I'll be making any money at work.
My job is so slow in the winter that we only work once or twice a week.
So when people asked what I wanted for Christmas, my reply has been the same thing, "Don't buy me anything, because I'm not getting you anything."
And if that wasn't the reply, then this was, "Visa Gift Card."

I'm going to New York for 5 days in a week.
Whenever I go to New York, even if I try not to, money is always spent.
Lots of money.
So the Visa gift cards, and other cash cards, will be much needed.

I'm going to see a crap load of people I haven't saw in forever when I go up.
That right there is enough to tell you how much stuff I'll be dragged into doing.

On another note.
I'm late when it comes to a lot.
TV shows especially.
My attention span is too short.
It doesn't allow me to sit there and watch an hour long show.
I can barely do a 30 minute show.
So I was surprised when I managed to watch two episodes of the show Supernatural.
Tia, you talked about this show often.
My coworker also mentioned it, but I never saw it.
From the two episodes I watched, I could get into it.
I'm such a weirdo.
When it comes to things supernatural and mythology, you'd be surprised to learn how much I know.
I'm going to buy the first two episodes on Amazon, just to see if I like it.
If I do, one day I'll buy the DVD's.

I bought my parents a Blu-ray player for Christmas.
That might make a great show to watch in Blu-ray.

Finally, I've been involved in a hair battle for the last two days.
I wanted to dye it a bright fiery red.
So I did.
Only problem was, the roots were the correct color, everything else was rusty penny bronze.
Not the first time this has happened to me, but in dire need to be fixed.
So I put a temporary dye, a raspberry red, over it.
Once again, the roots came out correctly.
The rest did not.
I had a little black temporary dye left, but not enough to cover my entire head.
Therefore, I mixed it with the raspberry and tried once more.
Better.
Much better.
Not the bright red I wanted.
Not really red at all.
It looks black, but when you see me in the light, you can see the raspberry red color.

Today I tried to clip my end.
When my hand slipped in one spot, I had to take off about an inch all over.
My hair was already in a short bob cut.
Now it's an even shorter bob cut.
If it gets any shorter, I'll have to pull out the clippers.
I just can't win all the time.

Mah. That's all for now.

P.S: Tia, get your arse back here.

Vol 94

The lack of post this month will be blamed on November being Nanowrimo.
As mentioned in the previous post, the goal was to write a 50K word story in 30 days.

In the beginning, it started out fun.
It was pressure, but nice, easy, fun pressure to write daily.
I would come home from school, do homework, and at night start my chapter for the day.
I would stick with the plan without fail.
One chapter a day.

Around day 10, I became to busy with school work and wasn't able to type anything for two days.
That didn't bother me too much. because between days 12-15, I shot up 13K words.
That's a lot, right?
I was way over my total word count goal for those days.

But when day 16 came, I was so ready for this thing to be over.
It became annoying.
Tiring.
Frustrating.
I wanted to strangle my characters.
Those little gits have a will of their own and liked to change things on me.

I didn't write a single thing for four days.
I would come home, nap, do homework, and then prepare myself to write but never did.
I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
It wasn't so fun anymore.
I kept wishing it was over.
No more.
But I'm the kind of person who completes the goal I set for myself.
So, I drudged on.

Days 24 and 25, I was below the total number of words I should have had.
Sucked big time.
And by then I was really wishing it was over.
But I had 10K more words to type.
So between the 26th and 27th of November, I would stay up and write 5 thousand words a night.
I verified my word count last night and the "WINNER" badge flashed.
There.
My goal was complete.
I no longer have to type this damn, wretched story.
Or so I thought...

Yes, the 50K word goal was complete, submitting 51K words.
But that was only the first part of the novel.
I still have an entire second part to right to finish this book.
Then there's book 2.
I'm actually looking for to book 2.
I can't wait to write that one.
I was so excited, thinking I was finished with book 1.
Until I realized...this story isn't complete.
Too many unanswered questions.
Still stuff they have to do before I can even think about writing book 2.
Which I won't for some months.
Now that the goal is met, I'm putting this aside for a month.
I'll come back to it in January.
Hopefully by then, I won't ate it as much anymore.

Hopefully Naila won't hate it as much anymore either.
I bothered her with every single detail about this story for the entire month.
As I wrote, I was IM'ing her about what was going on.
She was a great person to talk to because she would ask questions and point out other things I missed.
That didn't mean she didn't hate hearing about it.
And it also annoyed me, how much I was talking about it.
Once upon a time, our conversations were dominated by ponies and rainbows.
Marshmallow clouds and sugar pops.
DBSK and BB.
Now it's also Nick and Aya.
Rosalind. Jase. Alexandra. Tafni. Davies. Finley. Devrin.
Zoe and Kat weren't so bad.
I liked those two.
Marlie as well.
But still...
So I decided to Acknowledge her in this novel in two ways.
One way is in the Acknowledgment section.
The other way is by naming a character after her...slightly.
Just the last name.
Tafni has her last night.

Mah! I'm going to wrap up this nanowrimo blog entry now.
I don't even want to see the word Nanowrimo for another year.

Vol 92

It's November.
That means it's Nanowrimo time.
I didn't participate last year, but I am this year.
It's pressure.
Good pressure.
Fun pressure.
I have to rant to my friend about what I'm writing.
It helps me organize my thoughts, and she'll point out stuff that is unclear.

But anywoo....
I'm starving right now.
And late for class once again.
It's raining, and I left my umbrella in school a week ago.
Guess I need to get up and go by another one before I end up late for my other class.

Oh, an apparently I'm going out tomorrow.
That's news to me.
No one told me I had plans for tomorrow.
I planned to sleep in and eat all day.
Wash my hair and all that jazz.
Well I have news for them....
LOL

Bye Bye!

P.S: Like the picture? I acted as a model for my friend while in New York last week.
It was a random last minute thing.
I hate pictures, but she says I'm a good model.

Vol 87

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!
It's my twins birthday!
And it's Ms. Allisons birthday.

T__T. I'm 22 now. It just gets older doesn't it.
It doesn't get younger.
Sooner then later, the little things that I am still able to get away won't pass anymore.

You might not notice because this entry is titled "Vol 87," but this is all my 100th post.
YAY for two reasons.

Now I'll go crawl into bed.

Vol 85

Wha-wha-wha-wha-WHAT DID YOU SAY?
