Vol 133

About to watch One Day. Lets see how much they differ from the book. I kind of hate this theater. It's always soooo cold. No matter how much I wear it's not enough.

Edit: Don't pay to see it. The movie does no justice to the book. It's an okay movie, but it lacks the intimacy that the book contained, and when you're viewing the relationship of people in one day increments, intimacy is very very important. I did like seeing some bits fleshed out, but still...Over all it was a bit cute. Sadly, the characters didn't age well. I know at 38-40, you don't look all old and saggy. Not if you take care of yourself, but Dexter didn't age well. He still looked as young as he did in the beginning, if with the 5 0 clock shadow and the gray hair. But I love Anne Hathaway and I think she did a good job, although I am no judge on her British accent, me being a 'Merkin and all.

On the other note, I got to enjoy a few hours to myself, doing what I want to do. Just me, my starbucks, and ipod. It was fun just walking and sitting around with no one to bother me. Being a introvert but always around people can be a bit...tiring. Even when I'm home, I'm in the room alone all the time, but there's still people around in other rooms. This was just me. Enjoyed myself completely.

School starts in two days. Won't be so happy when I go to class. -_-

Vol 132

This movie was released recently. One Day. Yeah, it's a romance movie that people make fun of me for wanting to see. Who cares. Anyway, I just read it and now i'm a bit....melancholy. Emma was a very likable person, whereas Dex on the other hand was more annoying, but it worked for him. The whole spoiled, rich, drunk act. Still want to see the movie, but maybe i'll get up and leave at a certain part. Also, not sure how well Anne Hathaway can pull off a Yorkshire accent. This novel was great because of the entire mix up of British English with American English. When she said he smelled of the wine they drank and fags I all but peed myself.

One second thought, maybe I won't see it. I've saw the preview and they've changed so damn much of the novel that I'm sure I'll be pissed off.

Vol 109

It snowed overnight yesterday.
Schools were canceled today, although there wasn't much snow out this morning.
But it started to snow again sometime mid afternoon.
Or more like hailed.
Now it's snowing again.
My classes are suppose to start tomorrow.
I hope my university closes because I will not be going even if they open.
No way I want to go out in that.
But my school can be jerks at times and stay open despite it looking a hot mess outside.

One class already posted assignments on Blackboard so I just spent the last 4 hours doing Intermediate Algebra.
Yes, I know. Sucks!
I mean seriously, I haven't taken a math class since I was a teenager. Just so you know, I'll be 23 this fall. You get the picture.
Most of it I still remember, but when it comes to word problems and graphing, I suck.
I was stuck on the word problem portion for an hour and a half and didn't get a single problem
Or I would get one, but you have to get 2 in a row to move on, and I would miss the second and have to start over.
The assignments for chapters 1-3 have to be complete by the 5th of Feb.
I already finished chapter 1 today, besides that word problem thing.
If classes are canceled tomorrow, I'll work on chapters 2-3.

Besides that math class, my semester schedule consist of Anthropology 211. It's a culture course and UMBC didn't accept either of my previous two culture classes when I transferred. They said those classes didn't match any there offered.
LIARS!!!
I sat them and showed them the syllabus for my music and health course, and they matched damn near word-for-word with a course they offer there.
Anyway, and I have three Psychology classes: child development, health psychology, and the history of psychology.
That last is a level 4 class, so nothing but papers, papers, and more papers.

Today, besides doing homework, I spent the most of my time watching Disney movies.
Classics.
First I watched The Lion King as I went over my Health Psychology book.
Then a few hours later I put on Aladdin as I did math homework.
When that went off I watched Mulan, which just went off 10 minutes ago.
I don't have any other Disney movie that I want to watch.
I need to go buy Pocahontas, maybe Beauty and the Beast.
Anastasia as well.

So see, I can go a day without reading.
Almost drove me insane but...
I guess I should crawl into bed now and force myself to sleep.
I need to develop a new sleep routine.
Although I only have classes twice a week, I still don't think staying up until 2-3am is wise during the school semester.
Some days I'm up until 4-5am.

Lets just hope this snow last for a few more hours.
I hate snow, but when it gets me out of class I love it.

What's new?

Vol 98

For the first time, when the east coast is struck with a blizzard, Baltimore is not effected.
Yet here I am in New York, surrounded by two plus feet of snow.
I should have stayed home, but no...I wanted to come hang with my okaasan, who I haven't saw in a year, in my otousan.
But okaasan's flight was cancelled, so no her.
Sucks.
Doesn't matter.
I'm leaving a day early anyway.
I would have left today, but I want to take the train home.
The five hour bus ride (it's never 5 hours long) was enough to deter me from taking it back.
You should have saw the traffic heading South bound from New York.
I tell no lies when I say that traffic was moving slowly between Baltimore and Delware, and was at a complete standstill from Newark NJ to Manhattan.
Complete standstill.

Anyway, one of the things we had planned was to see the newest Disney princess movie, Tangled a.k.a Rapunzel.
Chloe and I went to see it yesterday.
That movie was freaking awesome.
7 songs too many, but other than that, I've never laughed so hard at a Disney movie.
Seriously.
That movie was hilarious.
Had some very cheesy moments.
So cheesy I had to cringe.
But it was great.
The best characters were Max, the horse, and Pascal, the chameleon.
They were...*laughs*
Max was more dog than horse.
Pascal was more protective older brother/best friend than chameleon.
And Flynn and his smolder...PRICELESS.
I didn't think the Witch/Mom/Whoever was all that bad.
Yeah, she was wrong for kidnapping Rapunzel, but she treated her well.
Besides the no going outside part.
She could have just locked her away and tormented her, but she didn't.

Mah...anyway...
I need to go get ready soon.
Have a long day ahead of me.

Vol 82

If you have not seen The Other Guys yet; go see it.
If you are not a fan of Will Ferrell; suck bricks.
That movie is freaking hilarious.
I haven't laughed that hard or long in a while.
There's no point of me telling anyone what the movie is about.
The fact that it stars Will Ferrell should be enough to tell you it's something silly.
Besides, there are a ton of trailer videos for you to find.
All I have to say is, Aim for the bushes and pimps don't cry.

Vol 44

As for the picture below...this is a childrens book.
a lot of children who come to my job have this book. or one of the books.
i was just saying the other day that i knew they would turn this into a movie.
Lowandbehold, when i got home today, i saw a preview for it.
Just great, another crappy kids movie.

As far as my resolution goes....i'm getting pretty close.

I won't post little descriptions about them all, this time around, but maybe a brief sentence or two.

But here is a list...If I remember correctly:

Practice Makes Perfect - Julie James (Like it. The silent feud. hehehe)

Just the Sexist Man Alive - Julie James (What's the most popular actor to do when he's outwitted by the sexy lawyer helping him with a role?)

Bad Blood: Crimson Moon series - L.A Banks (Damn Werewolves and Vampires)

Bite the Bullet: Crimson Moon series - L.A Banks *sigh*

Black Jack - Lora Leigh (She's not that great. Good story, but not how I would have liked it.)

Man of Fame - Rochelle Alers (-le sigh-)

Man of Fantasy - Rochelle Alers (-le sigh-

Man of Fortune - Rochelle Alers (-le sigh-)

Stranger in My Arms -Rochelle Alers (I liked the whole family thing. Reminded me of my family before my grand dad died)

Love Lessons (Novella) - Rochelle Alers (Lots of Rachelle Alers.)

I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember right now.
Need to check my kindle.

On Spring Break right now.
Not much of a break.
I have to work damn near everyday.
